Science On Tap returns to National Mechanics next month! Join us on Monday, April 10 for our April event: Quilting Science Stories from Alaska to the South Atlantic Ocean
Scientists have been increasing their use of communication tools such as blog posts, podcasts, and videos, to expand their reach and bring in new audiences to conversations around science. How about using a more creative approach, such as quilts to tell stories of science?
Marine geologist Dr. Laura Guertin (Penn State Brandywine) will take us on the journey of when she first started combining her quilting and science storytelling skills, and how her field experiences in Alaska, Louisiana, and on a two-month ocean expedition in the South Atlantic Ocean are being shared with quilts.
This event will be held at National Mechanics, located at 22 S 3rd St Philadelphia, PA. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets are not required.
