Moving Well Project International
We address the mental health and psychosocial needs
of at-risk migrant populations in sub-Saharan Africa
10/14/2022
From July to December 2022, Partnership for Transparency (PTF) is working on a physical and mental health monitoring project in Zambia. For this project, PTF is collaborating with Moving Well Project International (MWP) and local stakeholders, Human Action Tech Support Forum and North Star Alliance. The primary objective is to improve the physical and mental health service delivery systems along a predominant travel route (Sinazongwe to Lusaka) for female fish traders.
In late July, a group of women fish traders had a meeting with Fish Chairman Jeffrey Ntende; Lynn Murphy Michalopoulos, Founder and President of the Board of MWP; and Mario Diaz, Secretary of the MWP Board. They met at the John Leinge Fish Depot in Lusaka to discuss the impact of fishing on the health and well-being of the women and their families.
This project is funded by the Rathmann Family Foundation, individual donors, and PTF Africa.
MWP aims to improve the well-being of at-risk migrant populations in Sub-Saharan Africa, through evidence-based health and mental health programs. Learn more about MWP's work at https://www.movingwellproject.org
