Behind every Black girl who loves math is a community that believed in her first. 🖤 That’s what we’re building. BGLM’s STEMming in Summer is a week-long STEM camp for rising 6th–8th graders! Hands-on projects, real mentors, and a sisterhood that lasts beyond the summer. 💻✏️

Join us in congratulating Na’ja Stokes and Sydney Brown — the powerhouse duo behind Bytes & Bio, an organization creating real pathways for the next generation in tech and science! 🖥️🔬👏🏾

Na’ja Stokes is graduating from Delaware State University with a B.S. in Biological Sciences (concentration in Research Professionals). She has interned with the ChristianaCare INBRE program conducting Breast Cancer research and served as a Biomarker Operations intern at Vertex Pharmaceuticals. 💊🧬

Sydney Brown is graduating with a B.S. in Computer Science and has interned with Honeywell as a Software Engineer and Deloitte as a Business Technology Scholar. 💻🚀

These two are not just graduating — they’re BUILDING. Bytes & Bio is proof that Black girls are leading in the lab AND in the code. 🖤👩🏾‍💻👩🏾‍🔬

Congratulations, Na’ja and Sydney! We see you, we celebrate you, and we cannot wait to watch you change the world. 🌍🎓

Black Girls Love Math exists to center our girls’ joy, confidence, and math identity — so they too can go to the moon. And right now? We are so encouraged by our “why”.

As we close out Spring programming, we’re proud of how far we’ve come in just 3 months. Our open enrollment programs in Philly and Brooklyn doubled in enrollment — more girls, more joy, more math. Our school partners and Shero presentations brought women in STEM to life, including the girls already on their own math journeys.

And now we’re gearing up for “STEMming in Summer” — our weeklong camp for middle school girls in Philadelphia — and we have never felt more recharged, more renewed, or more ready.

To the girls we serve: the moon is not the limit. It’s just the beginning. 🌙🖤
