This day was created back in 2010 to recognize the huge impact social platforms have had on how we connect and communicate.

Pictured: "Woman with Oranges"

This woman makes her appearance in many pieces of my work. I believe I am drawn to her grand and imperial stance. In my versions, I have given her a basket of oranges, a golden crown, a piece from broken bracelet, as well as a necklace made of gold foil, (from the inside of an envelop) because every woman deserves a gold neckpiece. .
She is created from a textured fabric; the orange column to her right is from a collection of Japanese paper, and the black and white urn, from a tissue box. Even before her adornments, I was captivated by her manner and deportment. She seems to making an offering of sustenance, providing nourishment to others, as women commonly do.
And…she seems to be gazing at something tall and somewhat far away. We’ll never know what it is she sees.
