A great morning for #tuberculosis (TB) detection rat Zahara! Watch part of this morning's training session as she finds a known positive TB sample. The most effective way to stop the spread of TB is to get tested and treated, and that's where our research using #HeroRATs comes in. One HeroRAT can check 100 inactivated sputum samples for T#B in as little as 20 minutes. This would typically take a lab technician in a partner clinic up to 4 days using conventional microscopy. #APOPO confirms the presence of TB in the rat-positives using globally endorsed methods in our laboratory.
