When we're not painting we LOVE to read!

That moment...when you take a look at the things happening around you and you take it all in. Everything feels perfect. 20 kids in this room. And not a single behavior not a single ounce of disrespect to the room or anyone else. They were engaged and sitting and it was my turn to sit back and watch, almost as if I was looking through a window, I need to shout out the teacher in this picture Ava one of our kiddos older siblings she is absolutely AMAZING. My mom and I were setting up for lunch and the room next to us got quiet and in our world you know that could mean something bad or something crazy etc.

I went over to our other room to find this...the kids were so calm so relaxed and so engaged, we put the "planetarium" on and Ava was teaching them about planets and had them in a circle and each kid was telling their favorite planet one by one. Something so simple kept them occupied for about 15 minutes and even when they were done with what was happening they didn't run around and be crazy they gave us the signal that they were ready for the next thing. I have spent years in daycares doing things that weren't working, rushing through lessons, managing 10 behaviors out of 20 kids, marking boxes and still getting yelled at and told it was my fault by admin. Till I finally had enough and created something that was mine and was different and actually serves the kids in my care.

In this world we lean into what is natural to our kids and what they want its not chaos its structured to meet them where they are in every aspect and today I got to see that ever ounce my mom and I have poured into this in the last year and a half was well worth the nights of tears and breakdowns. Are we perfect? absolutely not but we are perfect for the people around us and who trust us with their kids everyday. What a first day of camp we had today I cannot wait to see what the next 6 weeks have in store! Its gonna be EPIC!!!

Pictures of miss barbs dads, My dad and my step-dad but I cant find any of him...its rare he takes pictures 😂. These men have been been my rocks for years and Idk what id do without them!
