It’s time for In The Community with Staci Scott – WURD Radio 96.1 FM, 900 AM ( 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm) Sunday, February 28th. Our topic this month is: The Covid-19 Vaccine – Know the Facts! Here’s what we know. Studies show that COVID-19 vaccines are effective at keeping you from getting COVID-19. Experts also think that getting vaccinated may help keep you from getting seriously ill even if you do get the virus. The question on some folks’ minds is – should I or shouldn’t I get the vaccine? On this month’s show we’ll chat with Dr. Merleen Harris-Williams, Sr. Medical Director at Health Partners Plans who will update us on what HPP is doing to spread the word about staying safe, getting tested and getting the vaccine. Beverly Donaldson, Executive Director of Neighbor 2 Neighbor CDC will share lessons learned from hosting a community vaccine clinic. And to wrap things up we’ll speak with Dr. Cheryl Bettigole, Director for the Division of Chronic Disease and Injury Prevention - City of Philadelphia, who is focused on reaching communities in the city that have been disproportionately affected by COVID-19 and may need assistance in accessing the vaccine.
