Here we have a staircase we pulled back tge carpet & realized it was just builders grade lumber. A lot of homes that have carpeted stairs is because it is builders grade lumber. Not a wood you want to refinish. So, what we will suggest is “capping” the stair treads & risers. Here we capped the stair treads with white oak & capped the risers with primed 5/16” board. We replaced the existing balusters with new primed balusters. We then sanded & stained the white oak stair treads with Duraseal Rustic Beige stain. Then coated with two coats of Bona mega satin finish & one coat of Bona Go satin finish. We also installed Creekside L.V.P. Harrington Oak flooring throughout the house. Just finished this 5/16” x 2” red oak refinish. There is two staircases we refinished minus the landings. You can see the before and after pictures of the staircases. We stained the floor with Duraseal golden oak stain and finished with two coats of Bona Mega satin and one coat of Bona GO satin. All work is done in a clean & professional manner as always!
