So I'm curious if any of my fellow carvers out there experience anything similar to this. Nearly every time I go out to my stump in the yard and start knocking out spoon blanks with the axe I'm visited by a little Downy Woodpecker. He starts tapping away at the dead standing sassafras just 10' from me, as if the sound attracted him. Any similar stories?
