The episode she released last Monday was a doozy and really hit home. It's about the fear that rears its head when an opportunity to expand knocks at your door.

This fear can be paralyzing.

Mel not only talks about freezing up, but about the emotional high you get when you decide to jump in and go for it.

She recounts a story about her daughter Kendall performing at Carnegie Hall and it had me sobbing.

Even though Mel's daughter has wanted to be a performer all her life, she didn't initially say "yes" to the opportunity because of fear.

Untapped potential is a crime. And crushing fear is all too common.

If you know me, you know I don't pussyfoot around. If I see someone's untapped talent, my approach (like it or not) is to push you in the pool, jump in after you, and help you swim.

Here are some examples:

• I went live on Facebook without warning, pointed the camera at many unsuspecting clients who were afraid of being on video, and gave them no option for escape. They didn't die. And once they had done it, doing it again was easy. Aimee even started a daily series and then launched a podcast!

• I announced to a packed auditorium that Beth, who was sitting in the audience, would write a book and be on TV. She was ready to kill me because she didn't yet see her potential, but guess what... she did publish that book and she was on TV, multiple times.

• One client, who was initially afraid to show up as the true expert that she was, took the leap to work with me to create and deliver her first webinar. Afterwards, Denice was flying high and said she felt like she could do anything.

The thing is, it's hard to move forward alone. You get in your head and start to doubt yourself. Your fear rears its head and keeps you stuck. You're unsure what to do first or how to get to where you want to go. It's impossible to move forward if you aren't clear on how to get there.

Instead of letting fear win, imagine the exuberance you'll feel after achieving your big dream. Instead of treading water, you'll be swimming laps and headed to the finish line.
