What's cuter, the tiny paws or the tongue?

Sometimes the pets are the easiest aspect to paint. This rug pattern was a doozy. But it's worth it to capture someone's home in the art.

I'm often commissioned to paint companions that have passed on. I feel the grief when I'm painting, and then I feel fulfilled when I see that my work brought someone comfort. I never paint "a cat" or "a dog." I paint Holly, or Owl, or Roscoe with all their personality shining through.
