Not in a trillion years would i have thought that how i play music is fundamentally different that everything else on Eartheremy M. Klein is a self-taught composer and multi-instrumentalist who has spent nearly three
decades developing and performing in a custom guitar tuning (DG #) that deliberately avoids
the gravitational pull of tonal harmony. Working entirely outside of conventional music theory, Klein's
pieces are composed and recorded in real time-often in a single pass-using an intuitive, tactile
approach that emphasizes intervallic exploration, texture, and emotional immediacy over structure or
repetition.
His music is not atonal in the academic sense, but non-tonal in origin: it doesn't reject Western
harmony-it simply never acknowledges it. The results range from turbulent and dissonant to sparse
and contemplative, always grounded in lived experience and shaped by constraint. Klein's work
emerges under extreme conditions-as a full-time engineer, primary caregiver to a profoundly
disabled son, and partner to a disabled spouse-making the act of creation itself a radical assertion of
presence and identity.

Jeremy M. Klein is a Philadelphia-based composer and improviser who has recorded hundreds of
original works using a self-invented guitar and bass tuning (DG #) that exists entirely outside
of tonal music traditions. His music, which combines electric guitar, synth, percussion, voice, and
occasional wind instruments, is created in real time without loops or overlays, capturing
unrepeatable moments of expression shaped by a unique harmonic vocabulary. His pieces reflect a
deeply personal system of sound developed over decades, often under the intense constraints of
caregiving and professional life. Klein's work has appeared on YouTube and other platforms for over
15 years, with a body of recordings that reflects a singular voice unconcerned with stylistic trends or
academic categorization
