The 2026 String Band Spectacular — the official judged competition of the Philadelphia Mummers String Band Association — will take place at Lincoln Financial Field.

Following the postponement of the judged portion on New Year’s Day due to high winds the string bands will now present their complete performances, including music, costumes, props, and routines, in this judged event.

The last time the string bands performed at Lincoln Financial Field was at WrestleMania 40.

The String Band Spectacular will air on WFMZ-TV, MeTV2 (WDPN-TV), WFMZ.com, the 69News app, and the WFMZ+ app. The official time for the broadcast will be announced at a later date.

Breaking News… Due to high winds and adverse weather conditions, the City of Philadelphia, in collaboration with the Philadelphia Mummers String Band Association, has postponed the String Band division judging portion of the Mummers Parade. It seems injuries occurred while trying to maneuver props.

I’m hearing the bands will either play some street music or do their performances without props at city hall and on TV. …..More to come.
