Aquí, allá y de vuelta. Sigo aprendiendo a transportar mi vida, a mi bebé y mi interés por el color de origen natural a cada lugar al que voy. Durante esta estancia en Philadelphia realicé una nueva exploración de la flora local. A diferencia de otros momentos, la práctica se volvió más consciente y pausada. Experimenté con nuevos elementos del entorno y disfruté la transición del final del verano al otoño, ahora acompañada de Tiga. Al revisar las fotos, regresan el aroma a tierra y hojas húmedas, el murmullo del riachuelo que atraviesa el parque que visitabamos y los olores de la cocina donde teñí y cociné para tres.
Ya de regreso en Hermosillo, me reintegro a otros rituales y a otro paisaje, es lindo regresar al origen.
Esta serie de color proviene de hojas de arce de Freeman, roble, flor de vara de oro (Early Goldenrod), cáscara de nuez negra y granada, aplicados sobre muselina de algodón e hilos de bambú.
Here, there, and back again. I’m still learning how to carry my life, my baby, and my interest in naturally sourced color to every place I go. During this stay in Philadelphia, I undertook a new exploration of the local flora. Unlike in other moments, the practice became more conscious and slow. I experimented with new elements from the environment and enjoyed the transition from late summer into autumn, now accompanied by Tiga. When I look back at the photos, the scent of soil and damp leaves returns, along with the murmur of the creek running through the park we visited, and the aromas of the kitchen where I dyed and cooked for three.
Now back in Hermosillo, I return to other rituals and another landscape—there is something comforting about returning to one’s origins.
This color series comes from Freeman maple leaves, oak, Early Goldenrod flowers, black walnut hull, and pomegranate, applied on cotton muslin and bamboo threads.

Since we started working together in 2021, we’ve learned to recognize what each of us brings to the table and what we are most passionate about in different aspects of the project. At the beginning, we wanted to share opinions on every single detail, but over time we realized that our practice feels more fulfilling when we allow the other to focus on the areas where each feels most connected.
That doesn’t mean we work in isolation—our perspectives always meet. Our approaches may differ, but the conceptual bridges remain very strong, and that balance is what keeps our collaboration alive.

Desde que empezamos a trabajar juntos en 2021, hemos aprendido a reconocer lo que cada uno aporta y lo que más nos apasiona en los diferentes aspectos del proyecto. Al principio, queríamos compartir opiniones sobre cada detalle, pero con el tiempo nos dimos cuenta de que nuestra práctica resulta más gratificante cuando permitimos que el otro se centre en las áreas donde se siente más conectado.
Esto no significa que trabajemos de forma aislada; nuestras perspectivas siempre coinciden. Nuestros enfoques pueden diferir, pero los puentes conceptuales se mantienen muy fuertes, y ese equilibrio es lo que mantiene viva nuestra colaboración.

Estamos felices con el recibimiento que tuvo nuestro primer taller. Gracias a .caradura.cafeteoria por prestarnos su espacio y todas las facilidades para llevarlo a cabo. A las personas participantes por compartir la mesa, su creatividad y preguntas. Como colectivo, buscamos darnos la oportunidad de compartir parte de lo que hemos aprendido como estudio de color natural en el noroeste de México, y ha sido muy enriquecedor. ¿Planeamos algo para el otoño?
