Just read a mind-blowing report on college affordability that's got me thinking... 🤔
Did you know students from the bottom economic quartile are EIGHT TIMES less likely to earn a bachelor's degree than those from the top quartile? That's 7.4% vs 60%! And it's not just about money - it's about information.
Low-income students often get hit with financial aid letters they can't understand, unclear policies, and unexpected costs. Plus, many schools are shifting toward merit-based aid instead of need-based aid - which honestly just gives more money to students who already have it.
What's even crazier? 40% of UC students don't have consistent access to nutritious food. How are you supposed to focus on studying when you're hungry?
