Accentuating the Positive

12/22/2025

On January 12, 2026, the Tererai Trent School will open its doors in Harare, Zimbabwe. This school was born from a simple but powerful belief:
Education should heal, empower, and unlock possibilities, wherever a child is born.

Tererai Trent extends a heartfelt invitation to foreign educators who feel called to teach, mentor, and serve in a purpose-driven learning environment in Harare, Zimbabwe.

We are inviting:

Volunteer teachers

Student teachers/teaching interns

Retired teachers looking to give back in a meaningful way

We are especially looking for teachers in the following subject areas:

Computer Science

Mathematics

English

French

Robotics

Whether you are early in your teaching journey, taking a purposeful gap year, transitioning into retirement, or simply seeking a new chapter, there is a place for you here.

Harare is a city of warmth, resilience, and creativity. It is a place where tradition and innovation coexist, where community matters, and where education is deeply valued.

Teaching in Zimbabwe offers something rare: the opportunity to make a tangible impact while being immersed in a culture that welcomes you as family.

You will not be teaching in isolation. You will be part of a close-knit school community supported by local educators, leadership, and parents who are deeply invested in their children’s futures.

What We Offer
We understand that relocating, even temporarily, is a significant decision. To support our educators, we offer:

Accommodation in Harare

A safe, welcoming, and supportive environment

The opportunity to teach motivated, curious students

A chance to contribute to a school with a strong ethical and social mission

Cultural immersion and meaningful community engagement

While this is not a traditional overseas contract position, what we offer instead is something many educators seek but rarely find: purpose-driven teaching.

The Learning Environment

Our classrooms are designed to inspire curiosity and collaboration. From modern infrastructure to sustainable energy solutions, we are building a school that reflects the future we want our students to inherit.

We are integrating:

Technology-enhanced learning

STEM and robotics education

Strong language instruction

Critical thinking and creativity

Values-based leadership development

Our goal is not just to prepare students for exams, but to prepare them for life, locally and globally.

Who Thrives Here
You may be a good fit if you:

Believe education is a tool for social change

Are adaptable, open-minded, and culturally curious

Enjoy working in diverse, mission-driven environments

Value relationships as much as results

Are willing to learn as much as you teach

This experience is especially meaningful for educators who want to step outside traditional systems and reconnect with the heart of teaching.

*If you are interested in teaching with us in January 2026, please reach out and introduce yourself. Tell us who you are, what you teach, and why this opportunity resonates with you. We look forward to hearing from you!
