Elizabeth Nelson is the Executive Artistic Director of First City Players in Ketchikan, Alaska. Since 1988 she has grown the community theatre into a welcoming "third home" for residents of all ages. On an island with long, rainy winters and limited outlets, she focuses on safety, listening, and inclusion. Programs include a multi-generational show that puts kids and adults on equal footing, youth camps with no-questions-asked scholarships, and mainstage productions that invite people with diverse views to create together.

Tonight, ASU Music Theatre + Opera's production of "L'Orfeo" opens.

Disney Musicals in Schools is a free after-school program offered to a limited number of Title I schools each year. Through the 17 week program, elementary schools receive free performance rights and ShowKit materials to a 30-minute Disney musical written for up to 50 students.
