Groundhog Day is actually a French Canadian holiday that we celebrate in the United States too. The spirit of the holiday is if cloudy when the groundhog comes out from its burrow then spring season will come early, but if it is sunny and the groundhog sees his shadow, it will frighten him and he will retreat back into his burrow and 6 more weeks of winter are in store.

We don't know how accurate the groundhog is however, the weather forecast looks like 5 - 6 more weeks of the highs in the 60's - 70's and lows in the 40's.
