Join us for our Spring Event, a morning of remembrance and community as we honor the legacy of Libby Goff with a memorial seed ball toss, followed by an optional community hike through the preserves. Join the Phoenix Mountains Preservation Council Board, members, and friends for a meaningful morning in the desert. Together, we will scatter native wildflower seeds, reflect, and celebrate a life rooted in stewardship and love for our mountain preserves.

Desert Views and City Vistas: An All Afield Hike with in Dreamy Draw. Sunday, November 23, 2025 @ 9:00 AM
A guided hike through Dreamy Draw Recreation Area in Phoenix, one of the most scenic gateways to the Sonoran Desert! Nestled at the base of Piestewa Peak, Dreamy Draw offers a chance to explore rugged desert terrain, take in sweeping views, and spot wildlife. On our 1.5-mile trek along the Dreamy Draw Nature Trail, we’ll look for signs of desert life, from coyotes and cottontails to black-throated sparrows and side-blotched lizards, and discuss how wildlife adapts to urban environments. Along the way, we’ll explore how areas like Dreamy Draw support biodiversity, connect habitats across the Valley, and offer city residents a direct connection to the natural world. One extra perk of this hike (depending on rainfall!) is that we can expect to start seeing cooler-weather wildflowers like desert bluebells and Mexican poppies.

Phoenix Mountains Preservation Council - PMPC
The Phoenix Mountains Preserve grew out of a grass roots movement which began over 50 years ago and continues today. It has become a "cause" in which ordinary people are deeply and emotionally involved. PMPC has been in the vanguard of every effort made since its formation to preserve the mountains within the boundaries of Phoenix.
