The Harvey M. Schwartz Endowed Scholarship was created to support students whose financial needs exceeded the cost of tuition and fees, because talent and potential should never be limited by circumstance.

To date, 57 students have gone through the program, and 43 scholars have graduated. They’ve gone on to careers in teaching, finance, communications, social work, marketing, and beyond.

⚠️ Volunteers Needed! Rutgers Engineering year-end Convocation Festivities: Departmental Awards alumni representative. You do NOT need to have been one of these majors to participate! 🔴

Each year, the Rutgers Engineering Alumni honor one student from each of the SOE departments with the "Outstanding Engineering Scholar" award. The award is presented to a student at each of the department year-end ceremonies on the afternoon of Thursday, May 14th.

We are looking for 2-3 alumni representatives to volunteer to attend the ceremonies, since they run concurrent to each other. At the ceremony, you will attend on behalf of the alumni association, and present the award to the student recipient during a part of the program.

If a volunteer would like to attend both sessions from Slot 1, that's welcome! Otherwise, we can split that amongst two people.

➡️ Slot 1: 1-2PM (Chemical and Biochemical Engineering), 2-3PM (Materials Science and Engineering) - attend both (or let us know if you can only attend one).
➡️ Slot 2: 2-4PM (Biomedical Engineering)
