🎮✨ Leveling up accessibility in the classroom! ✨🎮

On April 16, our Environmental Adaptation and Rehabilitation Technology students got hands‑on experience with the latest in adaptive video gaming 🎉 Thanks to Zach Runyan from AbleGamers (tag!) and Mitch Bell from UPMC, students explored alternative controllers and adaptive inputs for all the major gaming systems.

From modified controllers to innovative setups, students had the chance to play, learn, and see how gaming can truly be for everyone. Game on—and game accessibly! 👾💙

What a wonderful day for practice scholarship! 🎉
On Wednesday, 11 of our professional‑phase Occupational Therapy students participated in the University’s Undergraduate Research and Scholarship Symposium. This annual event brings together students from across campus to showcase their scholarly work.

Our OT students truly embodied what it means to be practice scholars, sharing projects on a wide range of topics—including seating adaptations, assessments and surveys, intentional walking, the hidden humanistic curriculum in anatomy, dyadic treatment with music therapy, and strategies to support inclusion in college and skilled nursing settings.

We are so proud of their hard work and accomplishments! 👏💙
