Dnapps Productions had a great time the past few days collaborating with Burns & Scalo Roofing on an upcoming video project! We were tasked with capturing multiple interviews on location with minimal changeover so it required a specialized team to pull this off effectively and efficiently! I brought in my friends Led By Light to assist me in creating a cinematic aesthetic with both lighting and camera equipment. This was one of the video shoots where I could just focus on directing/producing while Ryan Kroboth handled the Director of Photography role. Jim McClain and Sam Owoc focused on the lighting. Having a production team helped elevate the quality of the product and can’t wait to share the final result once it is edited. The team at Burns and Scalo also provided tremendous help in coordinating interviews, locations and other logistics to make this production a success!

Aside from a great production I also lent my photography skills on the shoot. Having a lighting crew there allowed me to have a secondary room setup so the people who needed headshots could quickly grab them in between interview shoots! I used mobile white background that can be easily setup in seconds!

Today I ventured out on a beautiful, but windy day in Pittsburgh to capture scenic footage of the city for a project! Controlling a drone while simultaneously operating the camera is one thing but the real skills is how to capture the shot in between the wind gusts. Also since i was flying my Mavic Air2s I would have to swap ND filters for the correct exposure since the light kept changing. This was one time I felt being a licensed Part 107 drone pilot really helped get me what I needed without complications! I’m looking forward to more opportunities to help other capture content throughout the summer and share more insights into my production process!
