Joyce E. Wasser
My work is about seeing the beauty in the everyday and the forgotten. Art isn’t just about grand subjects. It’s about meaning in the quiet corners of the world.

Do you think it's haunted?

I captured this striking scene yesterday: a large, twisted piece of driftwood resting on the rocky shore of the Allegheny River, with the iron railway bridge of the Brilliant Line spanning the river behind it. The driftwood, with its natural, weathered texture and organic form, contrasts beautifully with the geometric, man-made structure of the bridge. The muted tones of the cloudy sky, the distant greenery, and the earthy shore create a serene, contemplative atmosphere.
