AllPeopleBeHappy wins at the GoAbroad
Innovation awards! 👏
We are proud to announce that we recently recieved the Innovation in Philanthropy award for our disaster relief work in Jamaica following Hurricane Melissa.
When Hurricane Melissa devastated communities in eastern Jamaica where we have partnered for 25 years, we activated our global network fast. Nearly $100,000 was raised for Jamaica relief and an additional $25,000 for cyclone recovery in Sri Lanka.
On the ground, the response prevented a potential waterborne illness outbreak through emergency water storage systems, restored satellite internet so community leaders could coordinate relief efforts, and rebuilt community spaces for education and gathering.
All of it was locally led, with decisions remaining in the hands of community members. Weeks later, the same model was replicated in Sri Lanka, proving the approach is scalable, not just reactive.
Thank you to and congratulations to all of the incredible organizations that were nominated.
Clean water changes everything. 💧
Through a partnership between Education Across Borders and AllPeopleBeHappy, families in the Dominican Republic now have access to safe water filtration and sanitation systems built alongside the community.
Clean water means health improves, children return to school and communities prosper.
Real change starts from the ground up. 🌎💧

Rural communities around the world are facing a quiet crisis: young people leaving in search of opportunity, taking with them the energy, talent, and future of their hometowns.
But in the countryside of Ecuador, something different is happening.
Together with Nido de Vida and AllPeopleBeHappy, one community is reimagining what rural life can look like, creating opportunities, strengthening connections, and building a future people don’t want to leave.
From welcoming global volunteers to launching local projects in agriculture, water access, and sustainable farming, this is more than development. It is a movement rooted in pride, collaboration, and long-term vision.
And the impact is already real: stronger community ties, new sources of income, and a renewed sense of possibility for the next generation.
Change like this takes time. But it starts with people coming together and choosing to believe in what’s possible.
If more communities worked this way, the future could look very different.
Millions drink Sri Lankan tea every day. ☕️
But few know the story behind it.
For generations, tea plantation families have lived without land, stability, or security. Their lives built on work, not ownership.
Then, on November 28th, 2025, a devastating cyclone changed everything.
Homes were destroyed.Families were displaced.Entire communities were pushed beyond the brink.
But in the face of crisis, action followed.
Through the work of Visions Global Empowerment and AllPeopleBeHappy, emergency relief reached those who needed it most: food, medical care, clothing, and hope.
Now, the mission is bigger than relief.
We’re rebuilding lives.
Creating a resettlement community where families will have:• Safe homes• Access to clean water• Education from early learning to university• Support for vulnerable children• A real path to independence
Because relief isn’t enough.Recovery isn’t enough.
Real change happens when we build for the future.
This project will require $30,000–$35,000 to bring it to life.
If you’ve ever enjoyed a cup of tea, this is your chance to give something back to the people behind it.
