This homeowner stores her pool furniture in the basement during the winter months. But the old steps were tight and narrow, which made it difficult to get furniture through the door. Add in that the old tiny drain was constantly getting plugged with leaves, and the old wall was just being held back by foundation anchors and it was time for an update.

We excavated the yard and constructed a new Versa Lok retaining wall to hold back the yard.

We were not able to confirm the functionality of the existing drain pipe. The drain is vital because without it water can easily enter the basement during heavy rains. Since it is more than 4' in the ground from the surrounding grade, daylighting it was not an option without trenching an awful long distance and tearing the entire yard up. Instead, we piped the drain into the basement and installed a sump pump to pump the water back up to the surface.

We poured new broom finished steps thanks to and Quality Concrete.

We finished it off with new black aluminum railings from and some screened topsoil around the area.

BOOM. Safe, functional, and easier access now for this homeowner to store their pool furniture during the winter months for years to come.

These retaining walls weren't in bad shape, but the problem was the steps. The treads are only about 8" deep, which is way too narrow. Code requires a minimum of 12". But the way everything was built, it was impossible to replace the steps and not the walls.

We tore everything out and started fresh. New Versa Lok retaining walls, we widened the steps to 3.5' wide, poured a new curved broom finished walkway, and steps to the porch.

Finished everything off with beautiful black aluminum handrails rails on both sets of steps.

We replaced these paver slabs with grass to trip on in between that made up the front walkway and patio and the sunken front porch slab with a new broom finished walkway and enlarged patio that makes the space much more usable.

This one was a challenge due to an unexpected torrential downpour, but we got it finished!

This church entrance doesn't look like much, but it was a liability. Unfortunately, whoever asphalted the parking lot did not properly grade the lot to slope towards the catch basin a few feet in front of this entrance. As a result, rainwater would pool right at the entryway making it a challenge to tiptoe around in the summer months and a skating rink in the winter months. We tore out the old concrete and curbs and poured a new entryway that ensures water properly drains away from the building and installed new aluminum support posts for the roof. We recommended that they address the parking lot drainage issue to completely eliminate the water problem.

This homeowner heard a loud POP noise one day and felt the floor of her house drop and the plaster walls crack. The steel column that supports the main I beam spanning the length of the garage had completely rotted out and failed, causing the I beam to sag roughly an inch under the load.

We used temporary columns to support the beam while we removed the concrete floor and old post. Then we jacked the beam back up to level and installed a new permanent post before patching the floor up.
