Plattsburgh Rotary

Today, the Plattsburgh Noon Rotary Club had the pleasure of welcoming Assemblyman Michael Cashman, who also happens to be an Honorary Rotarian!

Assemblyman Cashman joined us to share updates from his time in office, discuss accomplishments he's proud of, and provide a look at the work still ahead.

A few highlights from his presentation:
⭐ His district is larger than the entire state of Rhode Island. How wild is that?!
⭐ He recently secured $100,000 in funding for Ausable Valley Central School District.
⭐ Since taking office, he has hit the ground running—introducing 53 bills and showing no signs of slowing down.
⭐ His very first bill passed unanimously!
⭐ Perhaps our favorite takeaway: he doesn't view our region as simply "Upstate New York." Instead, he proudly refers to us as the "Top of the Empire."

At the conclusion of the meeting, Rotary President Betsy Vicencio presented Assemblyman Cashman with the Distinguished Friend Award and thanked him for his continued support of Rotary, as well as his genuine efforts to attend meetings, participate in club activities, and stay connected to the community he serves.

Special Note: Next weekend is Juneteenth, and our very own Rotarian, Jackie Madison, has helped curate an incredible lineup of events and activities throughout the North Country to commemorate and celebrate this important holiday.
