Wood, Wire and Voice Coffee House presents two local singer/songwriters: Paul Carson and Christopher Rigsbee (of Adrian Aardvark). Friday, January 20th at 7:00PM. Admission is free, but donations are welcomed. Refreshments will be available during intermission.

Paul Carson was born in the 1950s amongst bomb shelters and boat launches of New York’s Hudson Valley. His first musical memory was seeing the Beatles perform live on the Ed Sullivan Show. As a teenager he was exposed to folk music through the near constant presence of Pete Seeger in the area. He taught himself to play guitar, writing songs so that he would have something to practice. Paul’s songs are mostly first-person short fiction but there is a grain of truth in everything he writes, and he sings them like you should believe him.

Chris Rigsbee has been writing, recording, and performing as Adrian Aardvark since 2004. He has toured the country both solo and with a band of rotating collaborators. His original material spans twenty albums and EPs with his most recent, 2018, reviewed in Vermont’s SevenDays. He is working on an acoustic focused album that brings him back to his musical origins. After some difficult years and a 60-day inpatient rehab stay, Chris is refocused, sober, and the future looks fruitful!

Seven months sober.

Four months and two weeks since I got out of inpatient rehab.

So much has happened in a small amount of time. I feel as though 2022 was actually three or four years squeezed into one. It has left me physically, mentally, and spiritually exhausted.

This is the best time to heal and for peace. I am very excited to finally record music again. Making art, comics, and more little treasures. I could not do it without King George by my side. Grateful every day for his friendship.

I truly hope you all are well, loved, and safe. 💚
