Be Humanitarian
We inspire volunteers to become global citizens who improve the world around them. Volunteers can join us in Guatemala to see how our program works first hand.

A few years ago, we visited the dump in Guatemala City and watched people sorting through piles of garbage searching for recyclable materials.
That experience deeply impacted us.
Since then, we have continued looking for ways to reduce waste through reusable shopping bags, mesh produce bags, and more sustainable choices within our programs.
None of us will solve the world’s environmental challenges overnight.
But we do believe small intentional choices matter.
And over time, those choices create ripple effects.

Some of the strongest people we know are the women in our community in Guatemala.
Women who are sewing garden towers.
Women learning new skills.
Women growing food for their families.
Women showing up every single day with determination and hope.
Our work has always been about creating opportunities that help women become more self reliant while strengthening their families and communities.
And the beautiful part is this:
When you empower a woman, the impact reaches far beyond just one person.

People often ask what our volunteer trips to Guatemala are actually like.
The truth is, they are hard to describe because they become so much more than volunteering.
You work alongside families.
You laugh with children.
You sit in homes and hear stories.
You witness resilience up close.
You begin to understand how connected we all really are.
Yes, we serve.
But we also learn.
And many of our volunteers return home seeing the world differently than before.
That is the beauty of meaningful service.
If Guatemala has been on your heart, we would love to have you join us on a future volunteer vacation:

Some of the most meaningful change we have seen in Guatemala started with something simple.
A garden.
What began as a small way to help families access fresh vegetables has grown into something so much bigger. Families are learning how to grow food consistently, women are generating income from surplus produce, and children are eating more nutritious meals at home.
Our garden towers are not just about food.
They are about stability.
They are about dignity.
They are about creating long term change that families can sustain for themselves.
Since 2019, thousands of garden towers have helped provide millions of meals in Guatemala and we are just getting started.
