What do you want? Start by writing down the top things you want out of your life. Then detail what you need to get there. Then let that be your guide when making daily decisions.
For example, I want to do more global travel. That will require mainly money and time. In my everyday decision making, I can decide to forego spending on things that don’t go along with this goal and finding more ways to give myself the time to do it (promotion with more vacation, working for myself, etc.)
If I really want it, I’ll put a little money in my travel savings instead of betting on sports games, I’ll wait on buying a new pair of shoes or buy the ones that are $60 instead of $110.
The decisions won’t be the same for you and the goal might not be either, but living everyday with a goal or a few goals in mind will help you make the best decisions for long term happiness, not just short term excitement.
