Because if you’re entering this work thinking birth justice is just a modern trend or a checklist of political values, you’re missing the point.

A trend does not honor the deep, ancestral lineage of the healers who came before us.

It doesn't teach you how to hold space for both the reality of (un)freedom and the power of Black liberation.

It definitely doesn't prepare you to carry the profound inheritance of the granny midwives who birthed freedom in spite of everything.
