I will never be able to stop talking about what an incredible experience this was/is. The wonderful people that I got to meet and work with, the lifelong friends that I made, the childhood dream that I got to bring to life, truly a one of a kind, dream experience.
Being there for every step of the way, from the first draft, about twice as long as it should have been, to the final edited cut can make it hard to really see it for what it is. Until now, to quote my own movie (I think I’ve earned that), it has simply been “one step at a time”. But now, it’s done. It’s finished. It has been through 10 months of writing, 5 months of pre-production, 2 magical days of filming, and 4 months of post-production to finally be here.
It’s important to step back and really see it for what it is. Something that dozens and dozens of people devoted time and energy to, that they believed in. Something that left people with more than just a film, but lifelong relationships. And, something that 6 year old me wouldn’t even be able to believe. Something that 17 year old me unspeakably proud. I am so grateful for every single person who had a part in bringing “Blackberry” to life. I hope to see you all for the next one 👀
