Our Story

NoFOMO is an inclusive monthly event produced by a q***r collective dedicated to Portland's homegrown cosmic dance music sounds. Resident DJs Sappho, Stormy Roxx, and the Prey plus special guests.

Sappho is a music selector and soul reflector. Forever searching for music to contribute to the soundtrack of the cosmic travels of nightlife, she relentlessly researches, expands on a narrative and exposes the listener to music they may have never heard but love. Residencies include NoFOMO in Portland, OR and Bottom Forty in Seattle, WA plus she hosts Misplaced Keys, a biweekly radio show on www.boxfrequency.fm.

As a deep lover of dancing, it felt very natural and effortless to dedicate his life towards event production and djing. Unlike many DJs, that arose out the warehouse raves of the past decades or the massive commercial EDM market, Stormy emerged from and was influenced by the rock, punk, goth, industrial and cabaret art scenes.

Obsessed with music and the allure of what mysteries the "big" city held, Stormy relocated to Portland in ’91. Continually exploring new scenes and music styles, he eventually found himself drawn to DJing in ’93.

In 2004 after his first experience at Burning Man his mind was blown wide open. The experience would change the way he felt and heard the music and was greatly inspired to go further... and further still.

Over time his sound would flower to encompass exquisite percussive textures, emotive tones, psychedelia, s*xuality and drama that engage the mind and body on the dance floor. Layers of sound and melody that trigger your cognitive experience then poured over a throbbing hypnotic beat that channels your primal regions. His musical interests run the gamut and his style morphs as his interests and inspirations evolve.

Now over two decades on this adventure, Stormy’s distinct style, presence and musical mastery have established him as a performer of a variety of successful events throughout the NW.

Always dancing while he DJ’s, Stormy extends his invitation to come join him in the dance.
