Are you solving a problem?
When my firstborn turned 1 we started baking together. It was a huge mess… sometimes it still is.
With consistence and patience she’s now 3 years old, able to crack eggs, measure flour, and pour needed ingredients into a bowl to turn it into dough.
One thing she’s been super consistent about is not wanting to cook over the stove. The heat scared her despite my attempts to coach her through being safe. A couple of weeks ago she asked to stir while I made soup. I WAS SHOCKED! But I kept my cool and tried not to show my amazement. “Nothing to see here”
When I picked her up before she asked for the spot to stir she asked me to hold her foot. She’d decided at some point that if I could help her not accidentally touch her toe to the burner she’d be willing to stir while something was on the stove.
It only took minutes before she wanted to move to a stool and take over the chicken.
My point is this. She figured out I could solve her problem simply by holding her foot out of harms way. I didn’t think of it. She did. But I was the solution.
It made me think about how most businesses communicate with their customers and clients. Do they know what problem you can solve for them? Or are you making them guess and then hoping one day they’ll come ask you to help.

It’s FREE! I mean do you have any words that the American public loves more?
One of the things that I’ve noticed feels like a love-it or hate-it relationship as business owners is giving away value. We can error one of two ways:
1️⃣ We don’t want to give away anything free for fear no one will want to pay us for more. OR
2️⃣ We love giving away value SOOO much that we forget to ever tell people they can hire us (hint hint…you don’t get paid)
But there’s a third option.
Offer amazing value in a way that brings your ideal client into a journey of enlightenment about what you have to offer. Along the road they get free from you, yes. But they also exchange your email for that value which is like them up raising their hand, 🙋🏻‍♀️ “yes, I want to hear from you again!”
So how do you get that vital email address hand raise? With a value packed opt in that gives your potential client immediate wins, action items, or education that they’ve been needing.
