We all wear masks — and most of the time, we don’t even realize we’ve put them on. But somewhere underneath the roles, the reputations, and the performances, there’s a version of you that doesn’t need a costume. The work is finding your way back to that person, again and again. 🖤
(Who in your life gets to see the real you? Tag them.)

Most of us spend years building a life, but how often do we pause to ask who we are beneath the roles, responsibilities, and expectations?
Identity is not a fixed destination. It is an ongoing conversation between who we have been, who we are becoming, and what truly matters to us. The more willing we are to explore our values, beliefs, stories, and experiences, the more authentic our lives become.
Who are you beneath the labels? What part of yourself are you rediscovering right now?

One thing we have always had in our home is a chalk board. A snapshot into our world! Words of wisdom!
I was planning a funeral and a nursery at the same time.
My father was dying. My daughter was on her way. They missed each other by four months.
I spent two weeks out of every month with him in those final months – asking him everything I had never thought to ask before, everything I always wanted to know.
Who were you before you were my father? Before you were husband? What did you believe? What do you want her to know?
I wrote it all down. So my daughter could one day know the grandfather she never got to meet.
That journal became the scene of everything. 20 years later – after losing my mother to dementia – The Fabric of Me was finally born.
Don’t wait for the diagnosis. Don’t wait for the decline. Don’t wait until the conversations are no longer possible.
The story is there. It just needs someone to ask.
