These photos were taken 6 MONTHS after this brand new home had a washer overflow in the upstairs laundry room. A plumber came and fixed the washer but whatever water wasn’t soaked up made its way into the downstairs ceiling cavity. This shows the importance of properly mitigating a water leak or spill. A new tenant moved in and noticed mild headaches and sick kids. On the outside you couldn’t tell, but behind the ceiling lurked the culprit. Follow for more mold horror stories.
Setting up a decontamination chamber is essential to ensure that no mold spores are spread to other unaffected areas. Inside you would set up an air scrubber to clean the air while you suit up and when you are done for the day.
