House of Nash
Human-made design & art direction. Spotlighting Portland, Maine artists and happenings.
Friends, we have some news to share.
After 10 months, Nash & Co. is closing our doors. We poured everything into this shop and gave it every shot we had, but between rent and rising costs, on top of life it self, the numbers just didn’t work out. We explored every option, investors, loans, all of it, and none of it came through. It’s a hard thing to write, but it’s the truth.
We’re going out with one last celebration, and everyone’s invited.
This Saturday July 18th and Sunday July 19th, 10am to 1pm, everything must go. Tables, shelves, work benches, and all the remaining retail. Bring cash or Venmo and come haggle with me. I’m treating this like a big garage sale, so come find a deal and take a piece of the shop home with you.
To everyone who walked through our doors, shopped local, came to an event, or just cheered us on from your phone, thank you. This community showed up for us in ways I’ll never forget. It didn’t go the way I hoped, but I’m so grateful for every bit of it.
The shop may be closing, but this page isn’t going anywhere. We’re soft launching House of Nash right here on these channels, carrying forward everything Nash & Co. stood for. Expect the same spotlight on Portland’s local artists and creative events, plus a closer look at my own design and art direction work as I keep fighting the good fight in our war against the machines.
I still believe in this idea, and I hope to try again someday. For now, come see us this weekend. Let’s send this shop off right, and I hope everyone sticks around for what’s next.
See you this Saturday July 18th and Sunday July 19th, 10am to 1pm. EVERYTHING MUST GO! Tell Your Friends.
With love,
Jaime & Ellie
