On July 7th, 50+ community members from Oregon and Washington rallied outside the Northwest Detention Center for Uncle Tony, a beloved Lao migrant in our community unjustly detained by ICE. We heard speeches from Tony’s loved ones about his caring personality, and the impacts of missing his warm presence in our community. Tony’s situation is one of many; we continue to fight for the livelihoods of all migrants!

On July 4th, members of DMA OR visited Tony to hear updates he has from inside the Northwest Detention Center.
He mentioned how there are migrants being detained from as young as 17 years old to 73 years old and how his unit is always at max capacity.
We call on community to join us TOMORROW (7/5) for our unification call to discuss plans for the mobilization happening 7/7 for Tony’s hearing.
