For some time I have heard accusations against our county Republican Central committee that candidates that get the committee's recommendation are "controlled" and expected to do the bidding of the committee.

I can only speak to my experience and say that I have been recommended twice and elected both times, and have served since June of 2025, and NOT ONCE has Brent Regan ever tried to influence me. In fact, we have never spoken outside of the vetting committee, except for a brief hello at party events.

I was asked my position on a pending council vote by another committee member one time. We disagreed, and there was NO pressure put on me to change my vote.

I can't speak to anything other than my experience, which has just been that when I am in line with the party platform, I have not been at odds with the KCRCC or been pressured in any way.

At 23 I was in the unemployment line when my uncle offered to get me a job at a car dealership. I told him, “I didn’t go to college to be a salesman.”

My uncle said to me, “nephew you didn’t go to college to be unemployed.” The following day I was selling cars. Six years later I started my first business consulting auto manufacturers around the world.

My speech in support of my vote to implement an invocation at the beginning of our council meetings, for those interested:

As we take up this vote, I want to speak to why an invocation matters, not as a ritual or a performative rite, but as a grounding reminder for those entrusted with public authority.

History is full of examples of leaders who believed that they themselves were the highest source of wisdom and accountability. When political power convinces itself that it answers to no one, not to the people and not to anything or anyone higher than human ambition and understanding, the results have been devastating.

The last century showed this in stark relief. Totalitarian movements, especially the communist regimes of the twentieth century, extinguished, by the most conservative scholarly estimates, well over one hundred million lives. Their defining feature was not simply bad governance. It was the belief that the state was the ultimate authority, accountable to nothing above itself. When leaders elevate themselves to that position, human dignity becomes negotiable and freedom becomes disposable.

Our nation was founded on a radically different idea, one rooted in the best traditions of Western civilization. The Founders believed that rights come from a source higher than government, and these rights therefore cannot be taken away by government. They believed that public office requires stewardship, and stewardship requires humility.

This is precisely why, during the last century, the words “under God” were added to the Pledge of Allegiance, the very pledge we recite at the beginning of every council meeting. It is a national affirmation that we are a people who recognize limits on government power, that no elected official is the ultimate authority, and that we are distinctly different from governments that demand allegiance only to the state and in doing so crush the human spirit. These words are a reminder of humility, accountability, and the moral framework that protects our freedoms.

That is the same spirit behind the invocation before us tonight.
An invocation is not about imposing belief. It is about acknowledging that we, as elected officials, are not the final source of wisdom. It is a moment of humility before we exercise authority. It reminds us that our decisions affect real people, and that we are accountable to the law, to the public, and to principles larger than ourselves.

Whether one belongs to one of the many faith traditions which subscribe to the belief in a supreme deity, is a skeptic or agnostic, or is even openly hostile to religion, the invocation we are considering protects the right of every person to hold whatever beliefs he or she chooses. This is our birthright, and it is anchored in the concept of free will, a principle deeply influential in the development of our Constitution and the system of government it prescribes.

In an age when political arrogance is easy and humility is rare, this simple practice helps anchor us. It keeps us grounded. It keeps us mindful. And it keeps us connected to the philosophical inheritance that made our system of government possible.

For these reasons, I will be voting in support of the invocation, and I respectfully ask for unanimous support from this council.

I proposed limiting the ability of institutional investors to buy homes in Post Falls during the campaign. I have been working on this but will hold off to see if the federal government can get this done.

The reason is that Idaho's legal framework makes doing it legally somewhat burdensome to small landlords and creates more city bureaucracy. It also could expose the city to frivolous but expensive lawsuits from private equity firms with a lot of cash to spend on attorneys.

In light of these factors, let's see if Congress can get this done. If not, Post Falls can revisit this idea in the future

Today I stood in the spot in the actual tent Charlie Kirk was assassinated in. The gravity of what happened there was palpable, and it was a sobering moment in a conference abuzz with activity. In that moment, surrounded by people, I felt as if I was the only one there. I said a silent prayer...for the Kirk family, for Erika as she handles so much responsibility with grace and poise...for the TPUSA team and Charlie's friends and colleagues...for the future of the movement he started...and for our nation and world. Please do the same. The evil that did this cannot be allowed to win, and the sacrifice Charlie made...for all of us...cannot be in vain. For Charlie.
