When you build up a canvas completely by hand, petal by petal, you end up with something that is entirely alive. 🎨
​This is "Where I Came From No. [X]." It’s a mixed media sculptural relief using acrylic, impasto, resin, and gold leaf. The face is hidden beneath a crown of champagne peonies, framed by silver wheat stalks that represent abundance and heritage. I even sculpted traces of traditional Moroccan embroidery into her garment.
​Pictures barely do the texture justice—it's designed to catch the shadows differently at every hour of the day.
