Between chasing my littles, working full time, caring for our property, and life, I somehow found a love for baking sourdough. Accepted Payment: Cash & Venmo

New babies! Roughly 53 have hatched and fluffed out! Of course once we pulled all the babies we had a few more that wanted to join but they need to dry and fluff first.

I just love this sight!!! Our batch of quail that’s up for butcher tomorrow began laying before I expected so we’ve had an abundance of quail eggs! Now the tough decision of if I keep any to keep egg production up or butcher all and save the round that’s in the incubator-hatching any day now. My current round that’s hatching is a party mix of colors which is what I’ve wanted in my laying stock!

New adventure at the Stall Homestead… TURKEYS!
We’re raising a small flock this year and will have around a dozen Thanksgiving‑ready turkeys available this fall.
Once we get closer to harvest and have a better idea of final numbers and approximate market weights, we’ll open a waitlist.
Local pickup only.
Farm‑fresh, free range, family‑raised, and just in time for your holiday table.

As if we needed more chickens! We had a broody hen I couldn’t break so I caved and said fine you can have the eggs! Well sure enough, she actually sat and hatched them!

First pick from the “spring” garden! My timing’s still a little delayed this year but it’s producing! I’m so glad we built the garden boxes this year, that area will be spring/fall gardens and then we’ll dispatch the last of the big piggies out of the garden as soon as we can and then get our summer garden rolling!

In addition to chicken processing this weekend, it’s been busy busy busy! Added two new does to our rabbit breeding stock. Will age them up to breeding age and start in the fall. Quail chicks are hatching! And moved the big quail to their outside coop. Loving life!

And that’s a wrap on that 6 week cycle of broiler chickens! 37 chickens dispatched and processed! Now on to breaking them down and packaging today.

We start all over again on Thursday with the next round of broiler chickens! 🙃
