Your Strongest Finish of 2025 Starts Now!
I had one of those βhow is time even real?β moments this morning when I realized:
π Weβre 1 week from Thanksgivingβ¦
π 5 weeks from Christmasβ¦
π and 6 weeks from 2026! π±π€ͺ
Yep. Weβre officially in the blink and suddenly it's January season.
But I have good news:
You do not have to slide into the holidays on the struggle bus and spend the first month of 2026 βstarting overββ¦ again. With a little intention and a few simple strategies, you can enjoy the season and keep your health on track.
Here are a few of my favorite holiday-proofing tips, pulled right from my βNot Going Off the Railsβ playbook:
1. Predecide
Before each event, ask yourself:
~ What do I really want to enjoy?
~ What am I willing to skip?
~ What will hold me accountable?
~ If youβre drinking, how many drinks will you intentionally choose?
A tiny bit of pre-planning goes a long way.
2. Donβt Starve Yourself
Please donβt βsave up calories.β
All it does is turn you into a starving gremlin who will inhale anything within armβs reach. Rather, eat light, balanced meals with protein throughout the day so you can enjoy the special food without the post-meal regret spiral.
3. Be Mindful
Slow down. Make memories. Be present.
Match every festive drink with some good old-fashioned H2O.
The real holiday magic is in the moments, not the menu.
4. Follow the 80/20 Rule
There are 93 meals in December. Even if 5β10 of them are indulgent holiday events, thatβs still less than 10% of the month. Youβre not βoff trackββ> youβre living your life.
5. Clean Slate Policy
If you go a little sideways, donβt fall into all-or-nothing thinking. Take a breath, wipe the slate clean, and move on with your plan. Thatβs how real progress happens.
6. Grace + Replace
β€οΈ Give yourself grace. Speak to yourself kindly.
π Replace the negative self-talk with something supportive.
π Then gently course-correct.
π The quicker you get back in the groove, the easier it feels.
