Painting and Photography in Private and Public Collections from L.A. to Paris His work is often collaborative.

Full circle. ❤️ Early in my career, I exhibited this small abstract oil painting Ginger in one of my summer solo exhibitions at Gallery Matrix in Provincetown. Toward the end of the show’s opening night, my then partner Michael Baker and I were sitting outside on the front stoop enjoying the night air.

In her signature fun and brash manner, the not-yet-famous-but-always-notorious @realleadelaria stopped by with a friend while riding their bikes. Michael nudged me as Lea suddenly swept by us and nearly lunged at this painting hanging just inside the gallery. She loved this little treasure thickly painted in earthy tones and said it resembled a certain female body part. That was quite the spicy review!

A couple decades later Ginger was sold by the @bakkergallery at auction to a longtime friend and collector of my work, Ron, and his charming partner Ken. Ron previously had purchased several of my works from prominent galleries. My largest oil painting to date, as well as photographs from the #microsummer series, are generously featured front and center and installed beautifully in their Laguna Beach home.

In February 2020 I was blessed to be able to go to Modernism Week in Palm Springs before the pandemic hit. While there I visited Ron and Ken at their sophisticated mid-century home designed by architect William Krisel. They surprised me by revealing the most recent addition of my work to their collection of contemporary art—Ginger herself.

I just had to strike a pose with these gentlemen alongside my painting. I’m honored to know so many passionate lovers of art who appreciate and collect my work. It’s sort of like a big, beautiful extended family.

Happy Mother’s Day and Lilac Sunday! ✨ This painting “Out My Lilac Window” was inspired by the billowing, fragrant stand of lilacs outside my childhood bedroom window. I’m forever grateful to my mother who instilled a great love for flower gardening and a more natural life in me. 💜
