Hello all! We’re still alive and growing, despite being MIA for a while!
Here’s a few snapshots of our titles you may have missed :)

🛹Have you checked out our Skater Baby book yet? It’s one of my favorites we’ve done so far! You might notice that the illustrations are a little bit different style than the other books. We chose to do use the rough sketches my illustrator creates instead of the polished look found in the other books. I thought it fit a little bit better when the theme and feel of skateboarding- might even go back and swap our Snow book for images closer to these! Let me know in the comments if you like this new look!

I wanted to share a moment of gratitude.
Today I went to my husband’s office with my son to see their new work space. There happens to also be a shop close by that sells our books; I wanted to finally see them on display in person. For context, they’re sold in about 340 stores and I have yet to actually visit one while they’re stocked!
As we entered the shop my eyes began darting around looking for the familiar covers I’d spent endless hours working on. I didn’t see them. I did noticed an abundance of beautiful, well crafted, and curated items that sat upon the stores display tables and shelves…but my books were not there with them.
My mind began to wonder.
…maybe they never put the books out.. did I check to make sure they got delivered? …what if they got damaged in shipping and didn’t like them so they just took the loss. ..these other brands are so much nicer, maybe my books don’t deserve to be here…
Just as my thoughts grew grim, the voice of my 4 year old interrupted me, “Hey mom! We have this!” I turned around and saw my son’s tiny hands reaching for the very book that they had inspired.
I smiled, and sighed. It felt like a very full circle moment, with a touch of humor. How silly of me to assume that by now he’d have SOME understanding of his mother’s role regarding the book he was pointing to… nevertheless it made me happy.
It was the only visible copy, so we brought it to the register to ask if there were more. The man working there explained, “Whatever we have out is all that’s left. We sell so many of these books, that might be the last one.” Again, I smiled. I shared that I was the author and just wanted to check-in about restocking. To my surprise, he lit up with excitement and shook my hand. He even asked to take a picture with me and told the guy taking it that I was the author (the photographer did not care, understandably😂).
While I don’t think the praise was warranted, it gave me reason to pause. I can be quick to doubt myself and this interaction reminded me to be proud of what I’ve created.
All this to say, I’m grateful that my work is appreciated. The books may be small and simple, but they are big to me. ♥️
