I used to say, "We can't afford that" and it was true until it wasn't...

Many years ago, there was hardly any money in our bank accounts, but I didn't want my kids to believe that their choices and outcomes were tied to our family's current financial situation...

I decided to partner with God and change the way I thought about money and talked about money...

When my children asked for something that cost money that we didn't have at the time, instead of telling them, "No, we can't afford that", I would reply with other options such as...

"How can I support you in making that happen?"

"What are you willing to do to make that happen?"

"Dad and Mom aren't willing to buy that, but you certainly can get it for yourself."

With those answers, my children have paid for their own cars, trips, phone/plans, entertainment, and even higher education...all by believing they could earn or create money in some way and then by taking action on those beliefs...

What are you choosing to believe about money and how is that impacting your children and even grandchildren?

May we REMEMBER with gratitude...

We can enjoy the barbeques and boat rides...

Because some gave all on the battlefields...

We laugh with family and friends gathered 'round the fire...

Because some lives were ended under fire...

We can dream, worship, work, and play each day...

Because some lost their lives to protect our freedoms that day...

If you have lost a loved one in service to me, my family, and our country, I want to thank you. We are praying for you to feel comforted in your loss and to feel the outpouring of gratitude we have for the sacrifice of your family and those you have lost.
