Know Your Edge
Just the humble beginnings of what hopes to grow to be an amazing, compassionate, supportive community here in the City of Oaks.
Hello beautiful yogis! Kayla here. We've got some exciting news here in KYE land. Starting this week I'd like to begin live broadcasting a practice. I've gotten a lot of responses from folks asking for private lessons, smaller groups, etc. Given the logistical and distance planning of some of this, I thought this would be a fun medium to reach out.
Respond and lemme know what times and days work for you all, but as it starts, I am to have one this evening. That way you can practice live "with" me, or by yourself at your convenience.
Let me know how this sits with you all. I look forward to this new adventure into broadcasting land...(bum bum bum) and to hearing your feedback! ❤️
So there is something that has been ekeing my brain lately, and I feel as if I should make a statement:
Know Your Edge strives to break down walls and hopes to encourage every body, regardless of ability, financial situation, color, gender identity, or creed to pursue their own ((*self*)) healing through yoga, mindfulness, and body awareness. Our goal is to make yoga and it's wealth of wellness information accessible to every single person who comes to us to seek it.
It is our belief that information is a right, and we strive to share what information we have with everyone willing to discover it openly, in order to empower people to heal themselves through their own bodies, minds, and spirits. To bring a greater peace to our corner of the world, that can spread within and beyond. To bring a sense of healing to our world, in the hopes that with healing ourselves, we can in turn heal others.
--------
It has been a struggle to succinctly state what exactly Know Your Edge's goal is in our community- except for trying to build a safe space (that doesn't quite capture it) But this morning's practice drove the notion home. I've heard it from several mouths, "I've found yoga classes unwelcoming, inaccessible, intimidating... (paraphrased)..." I've noticed this in how accessible (or not) trainings, classes, and practices in the community can be (this is not a political jab in any direction).
So dig deep loves! Let's kick this notion right to the curb! Our wellsprings are not endless, but they are deeper than we ever imagined. Dive in!
Love, Peace, and Light.
