Benson Brothers Fly Fishing

BBFF has been on a short break due to a freak accident that occurred in early May. Long story short, I (Matthew) shattered my left femur in 4 breaks near my hip and fractured my hip too. I now have a bit of hardware in my body. I’m learning to use the 6 inch screw that goes through my hip and connects (goes through) to a metal rod that extends from the top of my hip to the top of my knee as my leg. It’s now been 2 1/2 months and it has not been easy. I couldn’t bare weight on my leg for 2 months and stayed a total of 19 days in the hospital. Here is a picture of an x-ray to give some clarity about the hardware in my leg/hip. I’m starting to make some progress and I hope to be back guiding and fishing by September. I believe the entire process will take will take some time and I’m extremely grateful for my life as I could have easily perished if I would have hit the rocks. I will give details on what happened as soon as I feel up to it. Appreciate those who reached out during my hospital stay and my wheelchair phase. Thanks to all who helped support me during this time.
