Friday garden goal: A table full of people, a view worth lingering over, and nowhere to rush off to.

A comfortable dining spot, layered planting, and a beautiful borrowed view can turn a patio into the place everyone naturally wants to gather.

Here’s your reminder to enjoy the garden this weekend, whether that means dinner outside, coffee with a view, or a few quiet minutes before the day gets busy.

My friend Karen moved to Nova Scotia in 2024, she used to live around the corner from me here in Southern California but we keep in touch and she sends me pictures of her amazing garden so I thought I would share what her spring garden is looking like right now! She gets to listen to Niki Jabbour on the radio plus also learned a lot from her mom as well.

“All my shrubs like nine bark, weigelas and hydrangeas are just starting to leaf out. We just planted 12 blueberry bushes, 4 varieties. Blueberries grow very well here. Yum!” 🫐
