The City of Redmond Professional Firefighters and Paramedics IAFF Local 2829 serve the citizens of Redmond, Fire District 34 and NE King County.

EMTG Class 20 visited the Washington State Fire Academy campus in North Bend for live fire training. This training exposes the recruits to actual class A fires in a controlled environment. Live fire days are grueling and exhausting, but nothing substitutes the experience of confronting the heat and limited visibility of a real fire.

Firefighters see things most people never will.
The IAFF has led the fire service in recognizing PTSD and job-related stress as real injuries — and fighting for peer support, counseling, and treatment programs.
Opening in March 2017, the IAFF Center of Excellence is a 64 bed mental health treatment facility that has helped over 1,100 members to date.
