While legislative session may be over, our leaders are staying busy planning next steps for affordable health care advocacy 🏥We reflected on the 1,300+ letters YOU the community sent to lawmakers this year, and heard from leaders at Washington Association for Community Health and Surge Reproductive Justice about how we can continue building a culture of advocacy for patients, staff and supporters.
Once again, THANK YOU for all the work and support in defense of affordable health care programs in Washington - it's all of us raising our voices together that is truly making a difference! 📣

Happy Pride Month to everyone in our King County Community! This month, you'll find pride flags - an iconic symbol for the q***r community - around your local HealthPoint clinics. But do you know their history?
🏳️🌈Pride flags date back to the late 1970s, when artist and activist Gilbert Baker created the first design for the 1978 San Francisco Gay Freedom Day Parade.
🤎In 2017, the city of Philadelphia introduced a Pride flag including black and brown stripes to acknowledge and support q***r people of color unique experiences and struggles often unrecognized within the larger q***r community.
🏳️⚧️In 2018, artist Daniel Quasar expanded upon the Philadelphia flag with the Progress Pride flag, adding the colors of the transgender pride flag (light blue, pink, and white) in the form of an arrow along with the black and brown stripes.
🟣In 2021, intersex columnist/media personality Valentino Vecchiett designed the new rendition of the rainbow Pride flag to be more inclusive of intersex people. This version was introduced by the advocacy group Intersex Equality Rights UK in late May.
