This past Saturday night (09/20/25), the Greene County Sheriff’s Office teamed up with the Missouri State Highway Patrol for another successful Operation Safe Ride.

Throughout the night, we had three individuals who decided running from us was a good idea. Spoiler alert, it wasn’t. All three were caught, arrested, booked into jail, and now face felony charges filed by the Greene County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

Reminder - “Valentine’s Law” is in effect in Missouri. Under this law, the consequences of running from a traffic stop are now more severe.

So, which sounds better to you….a traffic ticket or a felony charge for fleeing? 🤔

➡️Operation Safe Ride is a grant funded operation focused on deterring reckless and dangerous driving behaviors that pose a threat to public safety. With the assistance of MSHP’s helicopter, we were also able to safely track fleeing suspects from the air, helping reduce the risks typically involved with vehicle pursuits.
